Founded in 2009, Mali Fashion is a vertically integrated, B2B life-style and fashion design company engaged in the design and production of women’s fashion. Mali Fashion is a US domiciled company operating from Chiang Mai, Thailand. Mali enjoys uncommon access and knowledge of fashion industry resources throughout South East Asia and Thailand.
Mali founder. Brian Johnson began his career in London importing textiles and later in New York garment district to learn tailoring at J. Press clothiers. For the past 10 years Mali’s founder has traveled beyond borders in search of generational artisans in local villages throughout South East Asian culture.
To understand Mali’s story, one must 1st understand the cultural framework of the people, traditions, and lifestyle of village people in South East Asia having a unique DNA.
Mali work in a design collaborative platform harvesting generational artisans to create unique fashion expressions by combining the old with the new to develop a distinctive fashion, Mali.
Mali designs are a fusion of “eastern influenced and western styling” to create a distinctive fashion expression communicated through our textiles, designs, people and traditions.

Behind every Mali design is a story, master artisan, village, tradition and art form. It is these through these journey that inspires Mali’s founder. Mali enjoys uncommon access and knowledge of fashion industry resources and suppliers in South East Asia. We have assembled a world class team of; designers, stylist, artist, and sourcing agents to support our activities.
Our production facilities are located in Chiang Mai, Sankanpaeng and Bangkok, Samut Prakan districts in Thailand. Our 3rd party business includes; private labeling, sourcing, textile design, and production. In a world of interconnectivity, AI technology and commoditization Mali offers a authentic perspective and fashion expression.
